New regulations will make it necessary for companies with large battery systems to have spill control systems.
PESCO systems are designed for use in industrial battery rooms where large quantities of sulfuric acid pose a threat to humans and the environment. Any battery system with over 50 gallons of electrolyte in a non-sprinklered facility or 100 gallons of electrolyte in a sprinklered facility is required to have a spill containment system that contains and neutralizes spilled acid.
Our spill kits exceed all existing federal, state, and local codes and regulations and meet the proposed changes to NFPA-1 Uniform Fire Code. We have designed our systems to minimize battery room disruption and provide maximum floor space. Installation has been simplified and we guarantee customer satisfaction.
This 3/8 polypropylene pan provides a code compliant solution where special floor considerations are required. It can be installed on raised computer room floors, placed across I-beams or placed on tile or concrete floors. It will fit any situation where installing floor anchors is not viable. These pans can also be installed in capinets to provide an acid resistant secondary containment barrier. Polypropylene is extremely tough and acid resistnant. Most battery manufacturers use polypropylene as a battery jar material because of its toughness and acid resistance. This material will withstand any type of abuse and can support up to 150,000 lbs per square inch without degradation of the material. The walls of the pan are welded together to ensure a liquid tight seal.
